For me it started when I was a fresh baby faced 21 year old going out to bars for the first time and realizing that I couldn't afford very many drinks. I started carrying a flask to make my going out nights a little more affordable. I would order cokes and sneakily pour booze in under the table. sometimes even going back out to my car for a quick refill. It worked great for a long time and surprisingly I only got caught one time. in Canada of all places. the bartender didn't even really care, he just told me not to do it again. But eventually I started making more money and I had less and less need to bring a flask to bars, That just left all the other times and events one would need a flask, events like work team building events, kids sports, public parks or just public places in general or worst of all dry weddings. I've only been to one dry wedding and it was one of those times where if I hadn't brought my flask it would have been near torture. you know the kind I'm talking about, the ceremony was like a hour and 40 mins long. by the time it was over I had to go to my car for a refill. Flasks can really turn bad times into good times and good times into great times. Now I've reached a point in my life where I have become one of those pretentious picky liquor snobs, I know that 99% of the time the places I go are not going to have what I want to drink, so here I am right back where I started pouring booze into glasses under the table looking around to make sure no one catches me and either kicks me out or tells me I have to drink some horse piss they serve there. So cheers to all you stealth drinkers out there you know who you are, you are my people. you are the ones I made Johnny flask for.
